WHO WE ARE

The Greek Society of Adlerian Psychology (G.S.A.P.) was founded in Greece in 1969 and was named after the founder of Adlerian or Individual Psychology, Alfred Adler (1870-1937).
Alfred Adler created the School of Individual Psychology in Vienne. Through the years, this theory attracted the interest of psychologists, psychiatrists, teachers, social workers, clergy and generally all those who had the desire to comprehend the human behavior. Thus, many Associations, Research Centers, Chairs in Universities and Institutes were created in many European countries, in the U.S.A., Canada, Australia and in the Middle East.
Individual Psychology, alongside S. Freud’s and K. Jung’s Psychoanalytic Theories, forms the basis of contemporary psychology.
Since its founding in 1969, the G.S.A.P. has collaborated with public and private entities, with schools, educational organizations, Institutes, Universities, as well as schools and Universities abroad.
The G.S.A.P. is a nonprofit organization. It does not belong to any political party, religion or cult. It is run by the Board of Directors, which consists of nine members. The elections take place every four years during the General Convention of the members of the Society. It is a member of The Hellenic Federation of Voluntary NonGovernmental Organizations and also a member of ASIIP (Adlerian Society UK Institute for Individual Psychology).
